Why Choose the Child Development Center of Central WV?

The Child Development Center of Central WV, Inc. is recognized throughout the state as one of WV’s premier early care and education facilities. While we truly believe that no center is perfect (including ours), we also believe that nobody does it better than the CDC!

Below is a list of reasons why we make that claim. There are many nice centers offering some of these indicators of quality. However, it is a fact that NO other center in WV can offer all of them. The basis for this assertion is simple – in our community, the CDC is without equal; there are centers of equal quality in other areas of the state, but none offers this level of quality at this price!
  1. Professionally Educated Staff
The CDC currently boasts 1 staff member with a Masters Degree, 7 with Bachelors Degrees and 1 with an Associates Degree.
  2. Continuing Staff Education
Our teachers earn 15 to 30 hours of qualifying continuing education credits each year.
  3. Consistent Staff of Experienced Teachers
Our turnover rate is very low! Classroom lead teachers average 10.5 years at the CDC; the average for all staff members is 8.6 years.
  4. Playground Fun and Safety
The CDC boasts the largest, safest, shadiest playground in the community! Separate playgrounds for infants, toddlers, and preschool/pre-k.
  5. Lower Staff to Child Ratios
We strictly observe staff to child ratios required for National Accreditation. These ratios are more strict than state licensing ratios observed by other centers.
  6. Developmental Assessments
Developmental assessments and parent conferences completed at least twice annually for all children.
